The Problem
There is a critical need to develop a hydrodynamic simulator of cerebrospinal fluid that can allow testing and optimization of brain therapeutics. Without this simulator, many beneficial therapies may never reach the market due to exorbitant development cost. The overarching goal of this research project is to develop and validate a laboratory bench-top system for brain therapeutic development. Our focus will be on the mimicking the macroscale dynamics of cerebrospinal fluid motion around the brain and spinal cord.
