Overview

The Cerebrospinal Fluid Laboratory is dedicated to investigation of the underlying biomechanical and hydrodynamic mechanisms responsible for pathologies of the cerebrospinal and cerebrovascular systems.

Purpose

• foster collaboration and discussion between cerebrospinal fluid and cerebrovascular researchers
• provide in vivo and in vitro experimental data to computational researchers
• increase interest in cerebrospinal fluid research

Current Research Projects

• cerebral blood flow and cerebrospinal fluid pulsation coupling
• relative distribution of spinal subarachnoid space compliance
• cerebral blood flow and continuous positive airway pressure
• MR measurement of wave transmission in the spinal subarachnoid space
• in vitro and in silico modeling of CSF wave transmission in the spinal subarachnoid space
• syringomyelia and Chiari malformation

• Quantification of Sylgard 184 Young's modulus at various mixing ratios, 2003-2006
